Instructor's Clinic

This workshop is geared towards folks who are interested in eventually becoming or already are instructors. Anyone who is trying to build a solid latin dance community knows that it all starts with the beginner dancer.

Basic Bachata

One of the sexiest dances, Bachata is a step up from Merengue in difficulty but still has simple movement when compared to Salsa. This is one dance closer to Salsa for a beginning Latin dancer.

Intermediate Salsa On2

This is a combo class dealing with turn patterns and shines for both male and female On2.

Beginner Tango

Tango is earthy and dramatic. Movements are sometimes slow and slithery, and other times sharp and stacatto, such as a quick foot flick or a sharp head snap to promenade position. American Style Tango, especially at highly-developed skill levels, makes great use of open and alternate dance positions to further showcase Tango's dramatic nature.

Monchito's Dips, Tips, & Such

Both women & men will pick up something new at Monchito’s Dips, Tips, & Such class. Examples of things you might learn are: DIPS – with support, safe for club &/or weak backs; TIPS – 1) connections & variations to spice up your existing repertoire (moves toolbox), 2) how to stay on beat, play with the music, & get yourself or partner back “on”, 3) how to use momentum for spins; SUCH – 1) cross body leads w/ multiple turns/spins in front/back/reverse formats, 2) ladies following techniques w/ solo work (shines). Components of the class are warm up shine, CBL variations, dip, ladies solo.

Beginner Rumba

The rumba is a slow, sensuous, romantic dance with much flirtation. Many of the basic figures of the dance have a "tease and run" theme in which the lady first flirts with and then rejects her partner. The sexual overtures can be very aggressive. The Rumba spotlights the lady and in particular her rhythmic body action and sexuality.

Advanced AfriSalsa Fusion

This is a salsa based class that incorporates a variety of dance styles into the basic salsa movements.

Lead Like Her Hero

Then, after dancing with you, they'll tell others to make sure they dance with you! Learn how to create a very pleasureable experience on the dance floor through your lead by measuring tension for diferrent partners, creating safety on the dance floor and other aspects of leading that will make her want to dance with you again and again.

Advanced On1 and On2

You have probably already done this by accident, but we are going to show you how to make the on1 to on2 transition with out having to stop and count yourself in. We will also cover a turn pattern that will work with both on1 and on2 rhythms.
